Resendiz Brothers is the California leader in growing and marketing Protea in the United States. They will be hosting renowned and award winning designer, instructor and author Rene van Rems, AIFD for a two day hands-on workshop featuring various styles and techniques of design. Learn how to work with varieties of fresh and dried South African Proteaceae materials for special events and the hospitality industry. You will be working on large scale designs, botanical container creation and installation tips and tricks. Rene will demonstrate unique centerpiece concepts that will set you apart in the “every-day” design world. The designs will be showcased during the International Protea Association Conference at the Temecula Creek Inn.

Rene Van Rems, originally from Amsterdam, Holland, is a world renowned and multiple-award winning ambassador of the floral industry. Formally educated in the entire spectrum of horticulture and floriculture at the famous Aalsmeer Institute he has led design shows, workshops, master classes and he was instrumental in the marketing of California grown flowers as Director of Promotions for the California Cut Flower Commission. He has a appeared on national TV, HGTV and his work has been featured in countless publications. He has delivered keynote presentations and programs in the US, Canada, Europe, South and Central America, and Asia. Rene is a long-time member of the American Institute of Floral Designers, (AIFD), and has received their highest awards. As a judge he has been invited by the Pasadena Rose Parade, the Philadelphia Flower Show and others. Locally he worked as exhibits creative director for the San Diego Botanic Garden. He has authored two books on European style floral design.
